Frequent
late nights resulting in bleary eyes and upset stomachs robbed Binoy
of a chance to impress during the inaugural season of the Falcons.
He spent most of the season travelling to distant parts of South
London on a Sunday morning only to find that the strain of the journey
forced him to take his customary relaxing mud bath on the touchline
for ninety minutes. His rare forays onto the pitch were usually
made under grave protest as he was forced to replace another Falcon
who became more knackered than him as a result of excessive training
the night before.
Not
surprisingly Binoy's appearances as a substitute all too often found
him taking up yet another new position in the maelstrom of a Falcons
team struggling to comprehend the latest in a string of enforced
tactical changes. As a result he was never allowed to shine. Despite
all this, however, Binoy has managed to make some solid performances
in Falcons matches. Tragically they were all for the opposition
as he regularly turned his back on his team-mates to make up the
numbers for the opposition.
True to form
Binoy turned his back on the team in the most emphatic way he knew
how by joining the St Albans based outfit ED where he now plies
his trade as a striker, returning to score the odd goal or two in
the ongoing "friendly" battles involving these two most
bitter of rival teams. Fortunately though Binoy has not totally
turned his back on his former club and can now occasionally be seen
wearing his slippers and sipping a Resolve on the touchline, meekly
cheering on the opposition.
