Realizing
that French players were likely to be cheaper following their dismal
showing in the 2002 World Cup, and ever keen to catch a falling
star, the Falcons have made it a French letter day by signing their
second homme Francais, Jeremy, for the 2002/03 season.
Jeremy
has the stylish world of catering in his blood and it shows in his
sophistication on the football pitch. His ice-cool demeanour and
classy defending were undoubtedly a key factor in the much-improved
performance by the team in their final pre-season friendly, a game
which much to the surprise of the watching supporters turned out
to be a comprehensive SC Falcon victory.
Jeremy will bring
a wealth of experience and much needed style to the defence this
season which should allow Marcus to finally make a freakish escape
up the pitch to a more forward position. It remains to be seen if
playing for the Falcons will have the same crippling effect on Jeremy
it has had on so many talented players before him.
