Mark was academically bright and showed a natural flair for management, both in fantasy leagues and in the official FIFA management training tool 'Championship Manager'. His talents seemed to be leading to little more than a third consecutive Champions league win for Shrewsbury in the simulated computer world he inhabited, until one rainy night in the summer of 2000 when Mark made the mistake of abandoning the safety and security of North London for a quiet drink with some mates in the Falcon pub. Several days later, when the alcohol haze finally cleared, Mark began to piece together the nightmare sequence of events which had led to him becoming player manager of the newly formed SC Falcon. Mark battled against the odds to make a success of his fledgling career in management, but the deck was stacked against him. Like a house of cards the Falcons collapsed, finishing bottom of the Millennium league.

His decision to resign as manager for the 2001/2 season saw a marked improvement in his performances on the pitch as he strove to reproduce the magic which had made him a successful college soccer player in the US. His guile and tireless work in both attack and defence looked set to guarantee him a successful season in 2002/3. However the cruel hand of fate intervened, and a stroke has thrown his playing career into doubt. Unable to help the Falcons any longer on the pitch, he has taken up a position as Dave's number two. Thinking back to the first season, all of the Falcons wish him a speedy recovery as they want to see him back on the pitch and well away from management.
