Reared as a child by a herd of wild horses, Phil swore then that he would never be broken by anyone. Many are the referees that have tried, but no matter how widely renowned their horse whispering techniques Phil still remains unbroken. If you saw him in his paddock you would feel sure that My Little Pony was fearsome by comparison, but surround him with footballers and a referee and give him a ball to chase and the “crazy horse” really runs wild.

It is hard to fault Phil’s commitment when he wears a SC Falcon shirt and his good goal scoring record is a testament to how difficult opposition defences find him to play against. There are few things which are more likely to unsettle players than when they see Phil’s name on the team sheet and you can taste the fear in the air as he gallops on to the field. Sadly it isn’t just the opposition that fear his outbursts, it is his own team mates as well.

To this day Phil is the only player ever to have been given the coveted Red Card Award. This special presentation red card gift set was given to the “crazy horse” when he was sent off in three consecutive matches without actually touching the ball. The players and referees involved in these games made a special petition to the FA to have a new award designed just for Phil. It was a fine achievement which may never be repeated.

In a clever ruse designed to calm a key player in his squad Ash made Phil club captain when he was manager. This tactic seemed to have worked wonders when Phil scored two excellent goals to mark his debut in the role and was upstaged by a fellow team mate in the haranguing the referee stakes during the game. Unfortunately, however, the “crazy horse” wasn’t about to let his nickname fade from prominence quite so easily. In the following game it was business as usual when Phil saw red again.

Like many of his team mates Phil may be nearing the end of his playing career, but you can rest assured that his reign of terror will not end here. As the only Falcon with any formal coaching skills it would be unsurprising if he took his crazy antics on to the management stage. Jose Mourinho you have been warned.
